The community calls it the Pirate Shop Token. In Fortnite, look for Pirate Shop Access.
During Treasure Hunters, opening a Battle Royale chest can award special treasure. According to player screens covered by Polygon, the rare Pirate Shop Access reward includes separate activation windows for 2026 and 2027. Each gives you 14 days to claim eligible Item Shop offers sold for V-Bucks.
The reported exclusions matter: real-money offers, gifting, pass levels and pass rewards are not included. Sidekicks have a one-claim restriction. Read the conditions on your own reward screen before activating.

How to get the Pirate Shop Token
There is no confirmed shortcut. Plan a good match, open chests, and treat the reward as a rare bonus.

Drop into Battle Royale
Check that Treasure Hunters and its chest rewards are active in your game. Do not assume Creative, Reload or other modes use the same prize pool.

Open chests along a safe route
Reports describe ordinary Battle Royale chests rolling Treasure Hunt rewards. More chests provide more opportunities; a specific chest is not guaranteed to contain access.

Look for Pirate Shop Access
A winning reward is reported to appear with a special notification. Coverage describes sharing with the party, so coordinate your squad’s search and verify eligibility in-game.

Choose when to start your window
Return to the lobby, open Shop, and look for “Plunder the Item Shop.” Read the activation screen before pressing “Activate Now.”

The reported timer starts when you activate. Choose a start time around the items you actually want, then check the Shop during your window. Announced release dates do not guarantee how long an item will stay.

Coverage of player reward screens gives December 15, 2026 as the 2026 activation deadline, with a separate December 15 deadline in 2027. The exact cutoff can display on a different calendar date in your time zone.
Your in-game activation screen is the final reference. These reported dates concern starting access. They do not establish when chests stop awarding tokens. The December 5 season event is a separate milestone.

Reports say the reward is shared with the party. A squad can search more chests, but that does not establish a higher probability per chest. Eligibility and sharing should be confirmed in-game.
Do I need to activate the token immediately?
Reports say the 14-day period starts when you choose Activate Now, not when you find the reward. Read the deadline on your own activation screen before waiting for a future Shop rotation.
Can I keep items after the 14 days?
Reporting describes claimed cosmetics staying in your Locker. The window limits when you can claim new eligible offers. Reported exclusions include real-money offers, gifting, pass rewards and levels; Sidekicks have an additional one-claim restriction.
